My journey is one of passion, commitment, and an unwavering dedication to the city of Sugar Land. As an 20 year resident from a multicultural background, I speak several languages and deeply appreciate the richness that diversity brings to our community.
My family's roots in Sugar Land go back to the 1990s, and after years of visiting, I fell in love with the area. We officially made it our home in the early 2000s before neighborhoods like Telfair, Sienna, and Riverstone were developed. I've had the privilege of watching Sugar Land grow and flourish, and I have been and will continue to be an active part of that growth every step of the way.
When we first moved, we settled in Telfair, where my daughters attended the local elementary school. From day one, we felt at home. I quickly became involved, serving as a class mom every year and leading the Sweetwater Country Club Women's Association as president. Later, I sought out the best educational opportunities for my daughters, which led us to Avalon, where they attended Commonwealth Elementary, Fort Settlement Middle School, and Clements High School. All three of my daughters are proud Clements graduates, and I was deeply engaged in their school communities whether as the unofficial "cheer mom," a dedicated Girl Scout leader, or simply a supportive figure to students and families alike.
Beyond my commitment to education, I have spent years dedicating my time, energy, and resources to causes that matter most to our city. I was among the first to organize committees for the American Cancer Society, hosting galas and events to raise crucial funds. My service extends across numerous organizations, including the Women's Center, Parks Youth Ranch (Children's Shelter), Meals on Wheels for seniors, Fort Bend Education Foundation, Child Advocates, Behind the Badges, Exchange Club, The Arc, Fort Bend Junior League, Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land, and many more.
For years, I have supported elected officials not based on party, race, or religion, but on their ability to serve the community effectively.
I believe in strong leadership that prioritizes our city's needs first ensuring our local businesses thrive and our resources benefit the residents of Sugar Land.
I am not just someone showing up at events for the sake of an election. I have been deeply involved in this community for decades working, serving, and giving without any expectation of recognition or political gain.
I challenge anyone running for At-Large 1 to match the level of dedication and impact I have had on this beautiful community and city over the past years.
Sugar Land deserves leadership that is efficient, transparent, and financially responsible.
I am tired of seeing half-finished projects, poorly maintained roads, and wasted resources.
A balanced budget and smart spending are my top priorities. I want to ensure that taxpayer dollars are invested in ways that truly benefit our residents, not squandered on inefficiency and bureaucracy.
I encourage every voter to ask the tough questions:
✅ What have you done for Sugar Land in the last 10 years? Please specific examples of the direct benefit your contribution has on the community.
✅ How have you supported our local businesses throughout the year?
✅ Where do our tax dollars go and what are you doing to lower the taxes for the resisdents of Sugar Land?
✅ Are you here to represent everyone, or do you prioritize certain groups based on shared culture or beliefs?
✅What strategies do you propose to ensure that Sugar Land remains a thriving and well-governed city, promoting inclusivity and preventing any particular group from disproportionately influencing city leadership?
Sugar Land is one of the most diverse and culturally rich communities in the country, and we deserve leadership that reflects and respects that. I believe in unity, not division. I believe in results, not empty promises. And most of all, I believe in serving every single resident of Sugar Land because this is our home, and together, we can make it better.
I humbly ask for your support and your vote for Sugar Land City Council At-Large 1.
Let's build a stronger, smarter, and more connected Sugar Land together.
